INNOVATIVE INTERVENTION METHODOLOGIES FOR PERSONAL, ORGANIZATIONAL, AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT: A CASE STUDY OF ITALIAN COMMUNITY PSYCHOLOGISTS
Abstract
The aim of this work is to illustrate the contextual factors that inspired some Italian community psychologists to develop three innovative intervention methodologies that foster personal, organizational and community empowerment. Several studies that we carried out to explore the comparative effectiveness between traditional teaching and a more innovative online line are also summarized, thus helping community psychology students in mastering the competencies required to develop these three different intervention modalities. These studies demonstrated that both face-to-face and online collaborative learning were effective not only in promoting students' professional competencies, but also in increasing their social capital and sociopolitical empowerment.
