The Future of Work in the AI Era: Reskilling, Equity, and Organizational Adaptation Strategies
Abstract
The rapid proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) is fundamentally reshaping the nature of work, workers, and workplaces, creating significant skills gaps and raising concerns about equitable job displacement. Organizations face an urgent need to develop comprehensive strategies for workforce reskilling, talent management, and ethical AI integration to ensure a just and productive transition. This research aims to analyze how AI and GenAI impact job roles, required skills, and employment patterns across different demographic groups, and what organizational strategies (e.g., reskilling programs, HR policies, ethical AI guidelines) are most effective in mitigating negative employment impacts and fostering an inclusive "future of work." Longitudinal studies, surveys, interviews, and case studies would be valuable. This research would contribute to human resource management and labor economics by providing empirical evidence on the socio-economic consequences of AI adoption, offering actionable insights for businesses and policymakers.
