Abstract

While geopolitical disruptions are often viewed as purely destructive, their potential to paradoxically foster novel forms of creativity and organizational resilience remains underexplored. Understanding how organizations and individuals adapt and innovate in fragmented normative contexts is crucial for navigating an increasingly volatile global environment. This research aims to investigate how geopolitical disruptions influence organizational creativity and innovation pathways, and what organizational mechanisms and individual-level responses facilitate the emergence of novel solutions in times of crisis. A mixed-methods approach combining historical case studies with contemporary qualitative studies and quantitative analysis of innovation metrics could be employed. This research would contribute to creativity and innovation literature by identifying disruption as an alternative channel for fostering novelty, rather than solely a constraint. Practically, it would offer insights for leaders on building organizational resilience and fostering adaptive creativity in turbulent environments.
